A collection of the latest publications in the field of paediatric stroke.
Guidelines & Reviews

There are few clinical guidelines for paediatric stroke. However, there are a number of reviews of paediatric stroke that may also help guide clinical management.

 

Guidelines

American Heart Association Stroke Council & the Council on Cardiovascular Disease in the Young: Management of Stroke in Infants and Children (2008).

A comprehensive guideline that encompasses ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke.

 

Royal College of Physicians (UK) 2004. Stroke in Childhood. Clinical Guidelines.

A detailed guideline that considers the diagnosis, management and rehabilitation of arterial ishaemic stroke.

 

Monagle P, et al. Antithrombotic Therapy in Children: the Seventh ACCP conference on antithrombotic and thrombolytic therapy. Chest  2004;126:645S–687S

A guideline concerning many aspects of antithrombotic and thrombolytic therapy but with substantial sections referring to stroke.
